simple saturday links 4/10/10
It’s been a busy week at thesimplerlife.net. A bonus post on Monday, a regular post Tuesday, another bonus post (and first ever video interview!) on Wednesday and a regular post on Thursday. I think I might have spoiled you. Plus, I created a Facebook Fan Page yesterday. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to utilize it, but if you’re on Facebook anyway you might want to consider joining.
With all that ballyhoo aside, here are three articles I enjoyed from the past week:
adventures of a barefoot geek: 10 unconventional ways to improve your writing– As this blog has taken off I’ve been doing everything I can to improve my writing. It’s something I am starting to take very seriously and it’s nice to see some more unconventional tips. I’m not sure how useful they actually are, but it doesn’t hurt to try, right?
elegant simple life: 3 steps for dealing with subliminal clutter– Christianna has been leaving insightful quotes here for awhile so I thought I’d check out her site. She writes an excellent article about a type of decluttering that is often overlooked. There is much more to simplifying your life than just cleaning out your house. She does a good job of laying the framework for busting the “subliminal” clutter you might be carrying.
lifehack.org: lifehack challenge; 24 hour digital fast– It’s amazing the type of power our technology has over us. It sounds simple enough–don’t use any of the electronic devices you have for 24 hours. However, actually implementing this is very tough to do. I try to do some sort of digital fast every couple months and I am definitely overdo. Have you ever done a digital fast? Did you experience any benefits from it?
