simple saturday links 3/20/10

It’s that time of week again– Simple Saturday Links! It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve put together this list of links so I’m giving you a double dose today. Instead of giving you three of my favorite articles from across the web, you’re getting one extra! I’m so generous, I know.

brad pilon: 2000 calories– This is a very eye-opening article. It’s amazing how quickly the calories can add up, even when you’re trying to eat healthily. Check out the comments for some ideas about how to “spice up” your foods in a healthier way than what is typical.

simplifi.de: learn simplicity from the old folks– Contentment is so important to living a life of simplicity. Luke is absolutely correct that old people have often mastered the art of contentment. There is a lot to be learned from those older people in our society.

becoming minimalist: the 10 most important things to simplify in your life– A great list of areas in your life to simplify. I try to write articles covering all of these areas but if you’ve found yourself in a bit of a run in terms of your simplifying, check out this list.

far beyond the stars: how to achieve freedom at the end of the television era– T.V. might be the biggest time suck that we have in our lives. Everett argues that with the democratization of publishing ideas (think about how easy it is to start a blog, for instance) the era of television is coming to an end. What does that mean for us?

As always, I’d love to get to know you via Twitter, Google Buzz, or even samspurlin AT gmail DOT com. Also, please consider getting automatic updates via RSS or email. Thanks!
