simple saturday links 1/30/10
Hello everybody and thanks for checking out my site! It’s been a big week here at thesimplerlife.net as the subscriber count finally broke the 100 mark. It’s currently sitting at 112 and I am really astonished by that number. I thank everybody who has taken the time to subscribe and read what I’ve been putting out here. In other news, I had a guest post (The Number One Argument For Not Simplifying) published at You, Simplifed. Charley is quickly becoming one of my favorite simplicity bloggers and I thank him for allowing me to guest post on his site.
As always, I encourage you to check out the following links and please consider following me on Twitter, subscribing to this blog via RSS, or by email.
mr-spurlin.com: gtd in the classroom- Please excuse me for linking to something else I have written, but I think it might be relevant to your interests. On my teaching blog I wrote a short article proposing the teaching of GTD (or other personal management system) in public high schools. It seems like being able to be organized and focus is such an incredibly important skill and it is never really addressed in the school system.
pickthebrain.com: personal development: more than self-motivation and positive thinking- This article hits on a concept that has bothered me for a long time. I’m so tired of people who think that personal development is all about positive thinking. I’ve always been fairly skeptical about the law of attraction and am much more in favor of hard work, discipline, and making a conscious choice to improve as a human being.
davecheong.com: waking up early, 15 tips that work- I’m a big proponent of waking early (although, I haven’t been doing a good job of it lately). This is a great list of 15 tips that are actually very useful.
